“The Blueprint”
Poster Series

Research suggests that a lack of representation and narrow or stereotypical portrayals create missed opportunities for all. Highlighting the achievements of Black pioneers helps address the historical erasure and marginalization of Black voices. The Blueprint is a resource to equip educators with the knowledge
to inspire themselves and others to confront challenges, advocate for justice,
and strive for excellence.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

PRINT + BRAND IDENTITY + RESEARCH

This senior capstone project was created as a personal reflection on the importance of representation in education and media. Having spent much of my youth in predominantly white institutions, I sought to create a visual identity that would have represented me during my middle and high school years. Through research, I realized that while representation is crucial for younger audiences, it is even more vital for older demographics, given the historical lack of Black American representation in education. As a Black woman in the design world, where diversity is often limited, I aim to advocate for Black voices and create work that compels change and fosters inclusivity.
